every time I see a program that doesn't let you type in values for envelope/breakpoints I think to myself "come on this must be the most straightforward and logical thing to implement" yet still many programmers would rather have you fiddle around with the fucking mouse some more
Oh yeah and you should be able to select multiple points and type in the value so that they all get the same value.

or, at the very least, make the envelope points snap to whole numbers. the way it is now is backwards, zoomed out you get only numbers with decimal points, so you have to zoom way, way in to get it to a round number. this should be the other way around. it's so frustrating to try and get something to change tempo from, say, 125 to 130, but you keep getting 130.54

Definitely +100! It's so annoying when you want to do anything more specific and tweak some volume levels and you just can't get them right.

Let's have it!
Or I would make a stretch to say, this is even better (no typing or switching from mouse to keyboard and back necessary):
How hard can it be...

This with adding a command key for locked vertical-only or horizonal-only dragging would make it perfect.snowtires wrote:or, at the very least, make the envelope points snap to whole numbers. the way it is now is backwards, zoomed out you get only numbers with decimal points, so you have to zoom way, way in to get it to a round number. this should be the other way around. it's so frustrating to try and get something to change tempo from, say, 125 to 130, but you keep getting 130.54

Yep, while I think Live 7 sounds like a good solid update, these are the little things I was hoping for. User friendly stuff that makes the application quicker and even easier to work with. Most of us have enough plugins already. New instruments can take a back seat to these type of (attention to detail) enhancements to the base product as far as I'm concerned...
+1 for typing in envelope values.
And how about being able to hold SHIFT-key and make the envelope point to snap to the last envelope point vertically? Handy especially when the first envelope point is like million seconds away and you just want to add the same value for this one too. And maybe ALT-SHIFT to snap to next point in vertical direction?
