That doesn't make any sense IMO. Why would they do that?

Here's a chat excerpt:
me: bonjour cristian!
thanks for your email today

Cristian: hey!

me: yes
hello
[smile]
so there are some further questions about Origin from my friends on the Ableton board

Cristian: sure, go ahead

me: mainly, why are only some knobs endless and some not?
why not all knobs endless?

Cristian: well all of them are dedicated to a certain function and the ones for cutoff, resonance, coarse and fine tune etc are not endless
there's no need for them to be endless
but those for the sequencer are better off endless

me: so it was a design decision, or was it a cost issue?

Cristian: yep..I guess so

me: I mean I can see how endless rotaries can still be implemented for a filter cut

Cristian: I don't think it's related to cost

me: hehe ok
well thanks for that
I'll relay it to the board

Cristian: no prob...I'll try to check out the ableton forum myself ...when I have some time
[grin]

me: you should - there's a nice picture of you at http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82804
I misspelled your name, but oh well [smile]

Cristian: hehe no prob
I believe the blofeld is also designed like this - some are endless and some are not.
