I must admit I hate the breakout cable on the duet. Dunno if this will interest you but I use a small piece of cable tidy which helps keep things neat.
yeah,i know what you mean.that's the only thing i don't like about it too.
but it sounds absolutely gorgeous nontheless!
it's tempting and i think about it myself... but no balanced outs either on an Apogee card... hmmm...

Would unbalanced cables really make a difference for short run cables connected to monitors in a small studio?
basically NO, really short runs everything under 1.5-2 meters doesn't really matter as long as you don't have massive interference around, e.g. running your cable parallel and directly next to a power cord, is for example a bad idea... also it's a good idea to use quality mic / line cables and plugs... but this one should do anyway...

still, it's just Apogee and the price and no balanced outs...

I have just spent the last ten minutes trying to work out where the heck this is. But I reckon if you back up a little and look left you can see my house...

Man, I am so totally liking that room! I'm thinking that the console board is more for looks at this point? One of several things is going on here, but one things for certain, I think there is a serious time span involved? Am I corrupt? Is this like me, the old geezer boy that never grows up, or are we talking like father like son here? I don't know, maybe you're just retro but I surely sense some 1970s - 2009 going on here. And you're from VA. Coolest spot on Earth!

Thanks for the good vibes but would you do me a favor and tell that cat to put something on. That damn thing knows no shame!
