Re: Export Slices

Just tried it with the 909 snare sample from Dumb Machines- same results here. It leaves the beginning of the next transient in the cropped sample. Last time I did this I was using Live 7 and don't remember this action behaving this way. Kinda pointless like this eh? - Bug??? maybe drop a line at the bugs and problems forum...

Yep same thing happening here, and I also remember Live 7 acting this way too.

I would say this is a bug alright. Needs fixing ASAP.

Either that or its a stupidly bad design choice

Hi there,

how to "slice to single sampler" ?
Can´t find it !

Cheers and thanks!

Daniel
I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

>v< - that´s the question today

...the work of production is reduction...

select audio sample -> context menu 'slice to midi' -> choose 'slice to single sampler' from the slicing presets.

i have the same bug by the way. when you crop a sample in sampler, it puts start and stop markers exactly where you want the file to start and stop. unfortunately the sample itself has 10ms before and after these points. so that's what you hear when you open the samples in another program.

i'll report this as a bug.

i always assumed Sampler did this for crossfade-looping purposes. a 'just in case' feature. pretty handy really.

anyway, +1 for the Export Slices feature (no leftovers)

A damn it. Are you telling me I have to use Sampler to crop the samples? I only have Simpler because I don't have suite.

This is pretty annoying. Like others here, I really want to build up a library of drum kits I have sliced from various loops and my own recordings. I would have though that this would be simple.

As it stands now, the only way I can create a kit is to drag the loop in to Ableton, slice it up, manually apply the midi notes so I can use it with my sequencer and then create the beat. This really sucks and also, I can't mix and match kits that I have created from loops.

All I want is a feature that slices up a loop, exports all the samples, and then allows you to put those samples together in to a drum rack.

+ 1

Ableton must implement the export of slices in individual forms so by the right click and also ,and IMO much more complete (like wavosaur) : the arrangement's autoslicing !

: to autoslice an audio file in arrangement, based on grid or transients (ergonomy and efficiently in live's spirit, dont be limited by numbers of slices etc...).

so autoslicing in arrangement view plus ALL slices's total export in a new slices's file in library ("SLICES").

anothers things that will be nice :

- DESTRUCTIVE CROSSFADES like in a real audio editor .

- BOUNCE TO AUDIO :to print directly an fx into an audio clip with one click,
and possibility to merge two audio clips in one etc...

- Slice to single sampler
- Open up the Zone tab and select all Zones
- Right Click -> Crop Sample
- all Slices are chopped and put in your Project/Samples/Crop Folder
- Batch Rename

I can,t find the option crop sample when i make right click.
could someone post a picture?
Thanks.

Ummm,ok i see it didn,t appears the first time ,but now it,s here.i don,t know what happens the first time.It was a long file cropping by warp markers.

I think we can all agree on the original point that when you slice up a loop, there should be an easy way to save the sliced up samples along with the drum rack.
