1) Maybe. I know you can use the Vestax VCI-300 to control other DJ software.

2) No. If you were running one application, the other wouldn't see the soundcard.

The NS7 was designed to do one thing and do it well, and that is control ITCH sfotware. Until the Serato + Ableton collaboration comes along, you'll be better off running Live on a separate computer.

A better solution for you would be to get a MIDI assignable DJ mixer like the DDM4000:

Then get a Serato Scratch Live interface like the SL1 or SL3, and have two laptops, one for Live and the other for Scratch Live.
