hey everybody.
two questions.
was doing some searching on the forum about mouseless control of ableton, and was looking to see if it was possible to scroll through the browser and load clips into a desired track/clip slot all from a midi controller. i know it is possible in someway, but a lot of the information was quite messy, and I saw some posts about templates being sold but some of them were quite expensive and obviously there must be homegrown methods.
some of the posts were quite old too.
can somebody give a brief explanation of this as to if this is possible?
also, in relation to clip launching...
besides the obvious suggestion of an apc40 or a lemur or a monome or something like that, is the best way to launch clips in the session view via a midi controller to assign an endless encoder to the scene scrolling, and then assign midi buttons to the track launch buttons on the mapping screen? is there another way, maybe better way to do this?
(mapping midi buttons to individual clip slots isn't really effective. i have SO many clips running in these sets.
thanks, louis.
