Mackie Control C4 pro 425 euro Thomann.de = steal??
What do you think?
http://www.thomann.de/be/mackie_control_c4_pro.htm
used to cost 4x the price once, right?
might pick this one up, or are there reasons not to?

It's also in that pricerange at other dealers. Are they phasing it out?
This would be my dream controller if Live would have 32 macros, so I could automap every synth and effect I have. (It should also display parameters and values interactively, don't know if it does) Unfortunately there are only 8 macros

That is a steal. Bast@rd, Sh/t F*ck Grrrr. Just when you start hatching plans to buy an APC this bargain falls out of the sky. Not that I really need either of them. Not that thats the point. Any owners on here? How does this work with Mackie Control? Can it address different areas of a Daw at once? Can it be freely configured? Can it display clip names? (theres a thought a Live Max patch that renames tracks after the currently playing clip giving you a LED strip feedback on whats playing, could that work?)

So Yes it seems it can do multiple plug-ins at once. Nowhere have I seen ableton mentioned along side of it
From the Mackie Page:
SUPPORTED SOFTWARE
• Reason 3
• Logic Pro 7
• Logic Express 7
• Sonar 4
• Tracktion 2

Ableton doesn't support the C4, or vice versa.

I see it can be used standalone, and since it's a midi device (no usb), i guess it could be used as a classical midi device, couldn't it?
just have to use the "mackie commander pro" software to perhap's be able to configure an "instrument" or "device" file with all screen parameters and controllers midi parameters...
I'm just guessing...
375 euros at Thomman now... seems so... attractive! (and you can with it control every hardware synth as well, some guys on the web sell some files for different vintage synths...)
