Collaborations with different people are in the works.
I'm still feeling out what this setup can do, it sure is a great canvas. And yes, doing live shows with it was definitely the idea from the beginning, and will hopefully happen sooner than later..

How are you liking the Alesis Control Pad, max?

I have one and have not really been digging it. I'm not sure if I have a bad unit or what, but I literally have to beat the hell out of the thing for it to even register a hit.

I've played around with the settings on it, still it's like I'm hitting the thing with all of my might and it's showing barely a trace of velocity when I look at the hit in ableton.

I use it in ableton, usually with an impulse, and the only thing that's helped is to drop a velocity plug in front. To be honest it's just sitting here collecting dust at the moment because I got tired of fooling with it.

Any tips?

Hi Smutek, I had to fiddle a bit with the settings on the ControlPad too, specifically the sensitivity, but if anything the problem was the opposite: I was trying to eliminate false triggers from adjacent pads or vibration (I think my current setting is 20). I don't have any tips for you right now, but I do think it's a pretty solid controller and definitely a bargain for the price.

Ridiculous monitor placement I know - but never really mix in there - just a little beat making den.

Mug Shot in the Monitor took specially for the forum of course!

I don't really use the roland as much as I should. The only use it has for me know is as an effects unit. Only one effect at a time - but they do sound great - space echo, decent reverbs, crazy ring modulators, nice enhancer and plenty of interesting delays.

pads aren't velocity sensitive, so not much use as a midi controller. Its got a very basic step sequencer and a virtual analog synth on board. Such a shame they didn't use the pads for the step sequencer maschine style.

controlling the pitch of samples with the d beam can be a fun diversion.

I sold all of my gear, mainly because I wasn't using it. Basically the new setup is...

-Ableton Live 7
-Reason 4
-Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3 (have not used this in two years)
-M-Audio Solo
-Korg PadKontrol
-M-Audio o2
-Tech SL-1200 not picturedused only to record skratching or samples
-Vestax mixer not pictured

The best part of this is that it can all be packed up and thrown in a bag in minutes for gig's or practice. Need to upgrade the sound card and controller I'm thinking Novation ReMote SL25

Here's my current setup. I've enjoyed checking out everyone else's setup's so much I thought I'd add mine to the pile.

Lots of nice looking setups! While I won't post my ugly face, I'll throw up some photos of my workspace. Just added Ableton Suite a month or so ago and don't understand how I ever lived without it...
