features to go with the new transient detection...

Post by bland_handl » Sun Jan 18, 2009 3:30 pm

highlight a selection of waveform between any two transient locators, then...

right-lick and choose "create section"

these sections of waveform can be coloured/named, then...
* if you drag the section to session it creates a new, separate clip *

could have an option to "loop when extracted"
in the browser these audio files would appear with the usual audio icon, but with a disclosure triangle that shows the sections and their names

this would save me a hell of a lot of time splitting/looping/naming tracks in arrange just so I can have access to portions within my tracks.
it'd also save me browsing through "sets" under a separate location from my "tracks"

...hope this makes sense

+1. More generally, allowing edits that are dependent on the labels one has placed on a sample. (Of course, Max for Live will enable this, assuming it includes a data type allowing for the association of labels with points in time along a clip.)
