Oh. Thanks.
Have you tried to get a wifi connection between your Mac and iPhone without a router?
No. Not sure how to go about that, but it would be good to know if it is possible because without it the application is somewhat limited.

What kind of mac are you using? If it's got airport built in, just create a network, name it, and have the iphone connect to it through WiFi. No router needed.

Ok I tried it and it worked no problems, just as you said. Cool!!! Now I can use this outside the home :-)

DChild - DOnt know the answer to your question, but your wi-fi card should be enough. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the iTouch midi software on your Mac.

NB: It has to be running before your iPhone will be able to detect the servers.

there's a new controller on the app store now, called OSCemote.
it's seriously nice. there's a lite verion for free, and the full version is only £2.99 / $4.99. i just bought it and set it up to use with Live (via Osculator to convert OSC to MIDI), and it's spot on.

Beat me to it garyboozy :)
I just tried it, and it works great so far (only about 10 minutes of testing with Live 6.0.10) I've never used OSC before, but I had downloaded Osculator, setup was pretty painless.

I'm still waiting for ITM MCU mackie control though, hopefully that will be available soon.

I'll start a new thread about OSCemote since it's different than ITM.

this non server app osc concept is really interesting
(no tiger or wintel or leo or ...;)

i guess it is not as universal as midi but if live starts to listen to osc directly
thru the c74 alliance may be hard to beat... :)

i already tried to contact ableton to find a way to create more integrated stuff,
but no replies yet...

iTM MCU has been submitted to the app store so it should pop anytime soon

mrmr app is the best though.
It's OSC too but no lags.
You custom built your app for iPhone/Touch.
Step sequecencer,...
You can use it for any app.
THey're working on a v.2 version I can't wait

Way cool. Been watching that app forever, but I'm way too lazy to bother. There's like a gazillion steps to get it working - not the least of which is that you have to jailbreak your phone.

I'm just waiting for the ultimate iPhone interface that's going to be compatible with 10.4, include a Monome-like button step-sequencer, assignable faders/knobs, assignable pads, XY, synth, WiFi capable, and that I won't have to give up 2 weeks of my time to program when I could be playing. It'll be here soon, I'm sure. :P

God. There's something so incredibly fucking cool about sitting on the other side of my house with my iPhone, banging on the iTM keyboard, and hearing it connect with my MIDI track in Live which is firing my Prophet 08. It just makes me so giddy.

This is the coolest fucking iPhone set of apps yet. It's just amazing. Every one of them just rocks. The fact that the track you're on in Live is also highlighted on the iPhone just rocks. When you fire up a clip in the Matrix, the grid stays lit to let you know what clip(s) are on. FUCK THAT IS COOL.

I just place my iPhone next to my MacBook and BAM, another control surface that's actually a serious fucking piece of kit. Only issue I've had is that the faders are a bit buggy/sticky in the MCU app, but nonnus says he's working on new ones.

FUCK Beatmaker. It's fun for noodling whilst taking a shit, but I'll take an app that actually WORKS with Live any day of the week.

If you haven't picked these up yet, and you're on a Mac with an iPhone or iTouch, do so. Fucking great.

So does any itm app on the itunes store now work with 10.4?

Just checkin if I should go slam a couple brews or if that money would be better spent elsewhere.
