Decoding Cache

Post by JohnnyMurasaki » Tue Mar 11, 2008 11:25 pm

Just a real quick question. Is there any way to stop Live from creating huge wav files everytime it decodes a track? I checked the "create analysis file", thinking that would create the ASD file and nothing else, but alas it does both.

Thanks

Nope. Live won't play mp3s so it needs the wav file.

Gotcha, so what if it's in a different format?

Why would you want to decode me anyway? I like being complex!

Live converts every audio format other than WAV to WAV as internally it can only process WAV.

The preferences has a section where you can specify how big the cache can be, which is the best way of managing it.
