@Kableton: Thats a crapload of locators you got there!!!8O Would I be right in thinking it's for "play from here" functionality?

I have no problem whatsoever working on a 12mn+ 50+ tracks project.forge wrote:arrange view is still quite a pig - dragging not good, not very responsive - worse when the video window is open
just using reaper to edit basic audio and it is really sticking out glaringly just how slow Live's is because reaper is like lightening!
What's your spec?
Is it the video dragging that's bad, or everything?
How does it behave WITHOUT the video track?
new core2duo 1.73GHz - should be fine with 2 audio tracks and 1 videoshhhhh wrote:I have no problem whatsoever working on a 12mn+ 50+ tracks project.forge wrote:arrange view is still quite a pig - dragging not good, not very responsive - worse when the video window is open

dragging small clips around takes way longer than it should
there is a LONG history of this problem
what are your specs?
Same specs: core2duo @1.73, winXP, fireface400 soundcard.forge wrote:new core2duo 1.73GHz - should be fine with 2 audio tracks and 1 videoshhhhh wrote:I have no problem whatsoever working on a 12mn+ 50+ tracks project.forge wrote:arrange view is still quite a pig - dragging not good, not very responsive - worse when the video window is open

I know about the long history, I've been using Live since v3, but since v6 these problems were gone.
How does it behave without the video track?
hmmm....our specs are the same, but I still get this
I even tried removing the AVi file altogether and it helped but still when zoomed to a certain level things get really frustratingly slow
all I am editing is 1 mono track with a VO track of one long recording, up to 20 mins where I punch in in parts and also copy a small "room noise" sample over all the gaps, then there's 1 stereo track which is just one file with no punch-ins, and 1 AVI file - I know AVI is still not technically supported but it does work for me and as I said I tried it without
basically I can zoom to a point when at the bottom the numbers increment in seconds (e.g. 1.31 | | | | 1.32 ) but as soon as I zoom to a level where the half second is shown (e.g. 1:31:000 | | | | 1:31:500 | | | | 1:32:000) then it gets really unworkable even changing the clip length - if I drag the end of the clip it hesitates and does nothing then jumps to a far along value because I've overcompensated with the mouse
