Can't live do this ?!

There's one VERY simple thing i still can't figure out.

Let's say i'm jamming on a midi controller (pads or keyboard) ACAPELLA, i.e. the current set's bpm is totally unrelated to the performance, no loop playing in the background, and no metronome.

If I record something in midi and make a few 2/4/8 bars loops (in ARR view with the grid turned off), how do i set the project's bpm so that it fits those clips ?
Isn't there any way to make a midi clip the sync master, like we can with audio clips ?
Stertching and adjusting the bpm after just kills any feeling.

'tap tempo'when the audio clip is unwarped...
put the new tempo in seg. bpm box of the clip...
turn warp on
......only after that make loops..

if you tap the tempo before you record your performance...

things will be easier...

Im sure you have an idea of the time sig your in. So, just find one bar, then nudge everything over to match the bar/beat. Thats your tempo. Change the global tempo to match. Jam away...

tap tempo doesn't cut it if you wanna do this post recording .
And i don't get what you mean mike, if i have my one bar loop (which doesn't fit the grid because the bpm is different), i can adjust the project's bpm all i want, the clip is not gonna fit a one bar space on the grid at some point...

First move your clip to the sesh view. You have to have an idea where one bar of your improv is, right? well just adjust the clips bar to fit with your improved bar...So youll be adjusting the Clips OG BPM to do this...When you have your improved notes fitting in the bar, look over at the Clips BPM. Thats your BPM, switch your Global BPM to the one found in the Clip.
