Where do I find the "Options.txt" file?
In this thread about the missing KEEP/REVERT OFFSET buttons, forum member mnsh gave the tip that they can be 'restored' by modifying the "Options.txt" file.
I've read about that file before, but didn't really care much until now.
Where do I find the "Options.txt" file (on Mac OSX), and is there a comprehensive documentation about it somewhere?
Did a forum search, but no luck. Help much appreciated.
from another post:
* OS 9: .../Preferences/Ableton/Live [version]/Options.txt
* OS X: .../Preferences/Ableton/Live [version]/Options.txt
* Win: ...\Program Files\Ableton\Live [version]\Preferences\Options.txt
* Win Live 5: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live [version]\Preferences\Options.txt
you have to create it yourself.

Thanks a lot, Strauzzie! I was looking for it in the Application Support, not the Preferences.
And thanks to the tip mnsh gave in the other thread, I have the KEEP/REVERT OFFSET buttons and the Offset Indicator (the "orange dot") back. Very happy!
Apart from that, I find it a bit lame, that there is no documentation about things like that. Since Live 5 (IIRC) we had this feature, and they take it out (well, only make it an option fortunately) without mentioning it. There should be at least a hint to the Options.txt file in the manual, and there should be a documentation about the code you can put into that file. I'm sure there is, somewhere in this forum - but I haven't found it yet.

There is a section on the options.txt file in our web FAQS, although it's somewhat tricky to find:

We made a deliberate decision to leave this out of the manual because it was never really intended for everyday use. Perhaps this needs to be reevaluated.

Thanks for the hint. Still, this seems to be not complete. For example, the "-ShowClipSyncButtons" option is not mentioned there. And I recall from some other posts I read in the past, that there were even more options.Dennis DeSantis wrote:There is a section on the options.txt file in our web FAQS, although it's somewhat tricky to find:

Is there a comprehensive list somewhere?
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 39&start=0 - far from complete, but a lot more comprehensive than the info Ableton is providing... so even though they have put stuff on their website it appears that there is some of the info that's still not kosher ?

options.txt file not in folder
Hello,
I'm trying to locate the file in the folder (OSX 10.4.11), however the Options.txt file is not there.
I also looked with the Terminal ... no luck.
Is it hidden or in another location?
Thanks!
