Import Tempo and Time Signature Information Bug

Post by dysanfel » Sun Jan 06, 2008 3:13 pm

1) Whenever the dialog box "Import Tempo and Time Signature Information" is present the "Do not Show Again" box does not work, the box always comes back - even when importing the same clip from the file browser consecutively.
2) Whenever the dialog box "Import Tempo and Time Signature Information" is shown after dropping MIDI into the Arrangement view from Addictive Drums any of the options "Yes", "No", or "Do not ask again" crashes Live 7.01 to desktop.

I am running a MBP 2.16 3GB Ram OSX 10.4.11 w/Apogee Duet soundcard. I even reinstalled OSX 10.4.11 fresh to be sure it was not me.

hi dysanfel,

thanks for reporting! indeed, the "do not show again" option does not seem to work until "yes" was answered in the dialog. we will look into that.

but i could not reproduce the crash after importing a MIDI file. Could you send me the file that caused the crash on your machine? You can send it directly to my email address (volker.schumacher@ableton.com).

best wishes!

Hi Volker,

I can confirm this crashing bug with AD. When dragging a clip onto the set and the tempo/time popup appears and I click no the lot crashes.

Now I clicked: Do not as again and clicked yes and everything seems to be working. Seems as you have to look for the problem in the no button.

I don't want to copy tempo/time information. How can I restore the state of my ableton so that it would once again ask me this question? It is very annoying when the tempo and time signatures now change for each clip I insert.

br, Kim

Hi Kim,

in the first tab of the application preferences (named "look feel") there is an option called "don't show again" warnings. Click on the "Restore" button next to it if you want to see the suppressed dialogs again next time.

Cheers,
Volker

Both bugs, crash and the issue with the don't show again button should be fixed with the latest beta version, Live 7.0.2b3.

Please give it a try: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82619

Regards,
/Alex
