Axiom 49 Preset Problems

Post by Lowfront » Tue Jan 08, 2008 7:33 pm

Ok, Now I have been trying to work through this problem for a day now with no luck.

I cannot for the life of my get the axiom presets to work. I have looked at that utube video, downloaded the tutorial on the site.

My problem is when I go into the MIDI setup area in the preferences there is no Dump buttom that is able to be clicked. It is grayed out.

I have tried restoring to factory defaults and such with no luck. And I have searched the forum with no luck.

Any help would be so appreciated, thanks a lot!

Can you verify that the Axiom is indeed hooked up and communicating with Live? It seems like there is some communication issue there.

What are your system specs n 'at?

I actually had some probs with this too. I had to call M Audio.

I'm at work, so I can't verify exactly what I did but try this:
1. Use the "Classic" selection when you select your controller in Live's prefs. You can do the "dump" then.
2. Make sure your Axiom is set to preset 18, 19, or 20. Those are the one's that the live presets are storred on. I think you hit the "Recall" button on the axiom, and then type in the number of the preset. I think the drum pads only work on 18, while most other stuff works on 19. Mess around with the different selections to see the behavior.

I hope this helps. Again, I don't have it in front of me, and I'm going of memory. So forgive me if I'm a little off.

Best,

jbone

Thanks for the replies guys really appreciate it.

First off the keyboard is communicating with live. I can manually set triggers etc.

Now Jbone, hopefully when you get home you can help me a bit more. When you say select "classic" I am selecting axiom 49/61 classic. Thats what you mean right?

And I also understand to hit "recall" and then go to 18,19, or 20.

My problem is still the dump button is grayed out. I have played around with it so much I'm at a big stand still.

Thanks a lot!!

Yeah, that's what I mean by "classic."

I just looked @ my settings, and my "dump" button is lit up.

You've set the midi input and output as well I'm sure.

I'm afraid I don't have much more help to offer.

Good luck. :)

You can download the so called Enigma App on the M-Audio webpage. This tool has all basic factrory settings avialiable.

Probably you can reset your Axiom with it.

Lucky You! My next guess would have been a dameged something inside of it - but cleaning??
The strange thing is that every A# and E wasn't working but all the others did.

i was even able to fix the last F key coz it was acting wierd for months. it was hammering like crazy. hitting 127 velocity. i cleaned it.. all the keys are working normal now =) i was careful in opening the keybord. interesting internals=)
