Saffire LE and Intelmac Noise

Post by The Freeq » Wed Feb 28, 2007 7:56 pm

Hi

I am currently using a Saffire LE i/O with an intel mac which is fine but.....

Whilst not using Ableton but, say, browsing the internet, there is a constant noise, i assume this is the firewire bus powering. But anyway it actually makes noise when u use the jog wheel on a mouse! Is this normal or is there anything I can do to remedy this.

Ta

are you using conversion to rca? don't do it. Use 1/4 in jacks. Even just a 1/4 conversion end off of rca. Guaranteed.

you have to use the power supply with the saffire le. it wont work properly on bus power alone. look it up on the focusrite website - something about apple changing the power output of the firewire interface on the macbook pros, so the saffire cant get enough power.

I have already read this, but is another problem (my saffire will boot up and power)....this time is a problem of MBPRO but I think Apple don't admit this problem
