no, serious.
do you mean the next 7.02 version?
i have phoned NI back in beta testing days of live 7 and they told me:
"more than 128 parameters is heavily demanded, but we do not know if we get it into final 7 version, but the next live version for shure..."

Definetly has to be fixed, more than adding _any_ new feature.

RME Babyface & UFX I
..some additional Synth hardware

Yes, a simple midi rack unit with a drag down menue to assign
makro knobs to single or multiple midi CCs.

Great idea. A midi rack with drag down menus, which would only display the midi assignments you have chosen would be the ultimate solution. Then you don't have to page through loads of parameters to re-assign a midi controller knob/fader.
That feature would drastically enhance midi mapping for live use!

Yeah but you'd have to find a way to keep it flexible enough to allow someone to map ALL the parameters, with multiple control surfaces, if they choose to do so.

Energy-XT shows how this could be solved, at the moment you need
both Live and e-XT..

one hack would be to use Automap Universal by novation (i think you can use it with out a remote) and re-assign the parameters you want
MacBook Pro T7600 / OS X 10.5.7 / Ableton Suite 8.0.2 / Peak Pro XT 6.1.1 / ReMOTE 37SL
