Hi there,
this is something weird i think i had to share with
the audio-loving community here:
http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/welt ... 26,00.html
They state that the lunar probe cassini recorded some noises emmited from Saturn, which sound almost like the noise made for the weird Planet Altair-4, out of the Movie "Forbidden Planet" from 1956 !
As i checked the Samples provided on the page, i couldn´t believe what i heard.
This is something really really strange. Check it out, what do u think?
Cheers
Daniel

that almost sounds like a wind-up, it's so freaky.
i'm tempted to sample that, or use it as my ringtone.

could sound/radio get to saturn and back in 51 years?
Spiegel is comparing the same source for both the radio signal coming from Saturn, and the sound used in Forbidden Planet.
You can hear the real signal from Saturn on the NASA website at http://www.nasa.gov/wav/123163main_cas-skr1-112203.wav. It's similar, but not nearly as musical as what's used in Forbidden Planet. Still kind of creepy though...

It's the proof, Saturn Inhabitants use Ableton Live.

Remove the period at the end of the link, then it'll work.downfader wrote:The Nasa link doesnt work.

Here is part 1 of a 5-CD set of this stuff.
This is the absolute best deep-space ambient music ever, IMO. I listened to this every night for 5-6 years...perfect dreamtime sounds!!
It sounds exactly like what's on the NASA link, but 3+ hours worth.
btw, it's sonic translation of electromagnetic energy, if I understand correctly.
