A rough tune done just using Tension

Post by Martyn » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:52 pm

I used 4 instances of Tension using 3 presets I made, it's a bit screechy in places (hence the cat reference) and definately could have had the midi programmed a bit more realistically but it gives some idea of what this thing can do. I can't wait to hear some of the proper presets for it, I've tried to make a piano without a lot of success so far but I know it's in there somewhere.

I love how volatile this synth is, it's a real balancing act to go after something, hugely enjoyable to program.

sounds really good man.

if it was me I'd drop the tempo just a little to make it slightly more like lazy guitar work.

just heard the rest of it, god damn that oriental violin type sound is amazing. thats the most amazing sound I've ever heard out of a soft synth hands down!

It started off as a hammered instrument rather than guitar so the midi's a bit wrong, it should be strummed. Couldn't be arsed to go through it all for the sake of this one though, I might try something completely without a metronome and grid at some point.

Tension's mental though!

I really dig it man, really good vibe. I would say don't use any quantization on that first sound when you redo it to make it more organic as it's already sceaming organic just too quanitized.

I didn't quantise it actually but it is built from smaller chunks, takes that I didn't fluff, the mistake was using a click track. Glad you like it though, maybe it's worth working on it some more.

I'm supposed to be beta testing this thing and all I keep doing is playing with the synths I won't be able to afford when it's released. Damn!

Well I already did this earlier this afternoon, but I'm looking forward to listening to this tune all the same.

I'd also like to hear some pieces showing off analog if anyone's up for it. no tarnce.

It's things like this that tempt me to buy the suite even though I really don't need it. :?

Well that drew me out of my little hole. :D Thats really, really cool (sounds and music  ) 8O Man I hope I can find the money to try this stuff out when its properly released.

I dont think its too quantised, tbh. I used to use a click track al the time, you still have great feel ariound it.

Very nicely done!

I was looking forward to trying out Tension ahead of the other 2 new synths and that has made me even more impatient.
