..:: Tarekith ::.. "Somewhere In Here"

Post by Tarekith » Wed Oct 17, 2007 8:28 pm

Whew, well despite being without a studio the last few weeks, and learning a new DAW, here's a new one from me. Entirely done in Logic 8, using only my MacBook Pro and a pair of Shure E3's. I might end up redoing the mixdown when I get a studio back up and going again, but who knows when that will be :)

Anyway, here's a new breaks tune, pre-warped for Live if that's your thing, hehe:

Up next will be a tune done entirely in Live 7 using all the new instruments. The fact this was a Logic tune is nothing against Ableton, Logic 8 just came out before Live 7 did and I was already knee deep learning all the quirks of that :)

Well done track! So, how about Logic compared to Live? I´m tired of some things I can´t do with it, even in 7 (automation in session, controllerassignments in racks independent of the set...) Greets you from germany, M.Lo

Love the string/pad sound that starts fading in at around 1:00. Which plug-in instrument did you use? Obviously, has some fx on it.
Nice.

p.s. Get any last sessions in at the Wilson skatepark? Man, you're going to have that whole Northwest territory to explore..;)

That was EXS24, probably a bit of Space Designer on it too.

Not hitting up Wilson, but we are hitting all the parks in the northern burbs, good times.

REALLY good. Feels trancy. Amazing cymbals and hihats. Snare started to get boring but the dark thematic change at around 1:15 helped alot. Love the breakdown at about 3:30. It's amazing how much you can do with what is basically one chord / root! I wondered what acoustic drum program you were using.

Nice track, easy to listen without any effort. Even imagined I could get up and dance at one point! Seemed like the dulcimer thing at the end could do with some rolls / grace notes.

Around how many tracks did this puppy take?

I wondered what acoustic drum program you were using.

>>> Those are just some stock samples that come with Logic, programmed in Ultrabeat. No effects, compression or EQ. <<<

Around how many tracks did this puppy take?

>>> Maybe 14 or 15, possibly less, I'm at work and can't check, sorry. I typically don't use more than 16 tracks in my songs. <<<
