home studio setup question

Post by burgessa23 » Sun Aug 05, 2007 6:13 am

is it safe to have my laptop sitting on the top of a near field monitor?
I've got my powerbook hooked up to an external monitor and the most convenient place to it is on top of a monitor (event ps-6) is this safe or am i gonna erase my Hard drive with the speaker magnet?

Thanks,
-andrew

I wouldn't risk it, even though they may be shielded. Just re-arrange. :)

Magnets aside, by setting your laptop on a speaker, you are already halfway to your computer taking a dive.

I fixed computers for a long time, seen lots of busted ones, and try never to put my laptops in an "iffy" position.

How far away is OK? My laptop is about 6" from the monitor.
