getting the best Gain Before Feedback on mic

Post by sniffio » Sun Jan 14, 2007 12:15 pm

Hello, I was wondering.
Is there anyway to get the best gain for the live-vocal-mic before the feedback ???

All I could come up was using a mic like Electro Voice 797a, 957, Audix OM5, OM7,
which is considered the best for GBF.
Yes, it's a hardware route.

If the 957's max frequency wasn't 13khz, I would have considered it.

"Noise Cancellation" or a trick on the "Phase", maybe?

Is it possible for the singer to keep on singing while knobing Effects (delays, etc),
without a feedback ?? or at least minimum feed back using any programs or patch ?

cheers

The mic is a good start, but most of it is having your monitors rung out with a 1/3 octave eq. That is really most of it.
