What's the closet delay (free or pay) to Logic's Tape Delay?

Post by mission » Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:16 pm

I cannot tell you how many times I've used the tape delay in Logic. If you use it only at 33 / 50 / 75 increments it sounds so good.

I need something with the same parameters, the same sound... most delays I hear are just kind of a modulated super reverb without the space? I need more clarity in the mix and less randomness.

If you've used the Logic Tape Delay then you know what I'm saying. I want THAT ... in... Live.

what system are you on?

Interruptor made the Bionic Delay, which is such a good clone, and it's free, but pc only.

I've got logic, and I do like the tape delay, but I use a couple others instead now. For simple straightforward stuff, audiodamage dubstation. It's cool, it degrades and can be highpass filtered over time like logics. And also I've got ohmforce's ohmboyz delay. It's amazing, you can do anything with it. Simple layout, but also does really good tape delay type stuff, but also much more. Everything can be modualted by lfo's and there's 4 tap's going into 2 delay lines. Dubstation may well meet your needs though. I'm assuming you're still on a mac, and these are both UB now if you swing that way.

don't forget fabfilter timeless. I like it much much better than dubstation but thats just personal preference. it gives you way more filter types and modulation controls.

more noise for fabfilter timeless. me favorite plug right now, you can get some nice slaps, echos out of it - then you can just get some nasty feedback noise too.

see the thing that bugs me about dubstation is that it has a high pass filter only am I wrong? aren't analog delays usually a low pass filter?
