The link? It should work.

Search google for EnergyXT . It has really powerful sequencing and arp capabilities.

YES it is, sorry I thought you already knew.
I have a microQ keyboard edition, which has a very sweet keyboard, and acts perfectly as masterkeyboard w/settbale velocity curves and aftertouch. 3 octaves only, and you can only get it 2nd hand because it has been discontinued.
Not ideal for gigs too because thanks to its full metal jacket it's not that light to carry around.

arp

Logic's arp sucks. I love the arp in my Access Virus C though.

Live's arpeggiator seems ok

Post by Hyperion » Wed Oct 04, 2006 2:59 pm

I did not yet spent time with it (Live's arpeggiator), but when I read the workings of it, it struck me that at the surface it may look like having very basic patterning, but with the extra controls you could be making every thinkable arpeggio with it. So no need for another one, just putting some work in it.

Greetings

Look at u-he Filterscape and Zebra2. These the best arps I have ever found aside from standalone applications such as Numerology (mac only). The great thing about these is that you can choose the number of voices played for each step. This allows you to construct and deconstruct chords. Very effective.

Albino is great for Steve Riech / Phillip glass type stuff when you carefully program the arps for proper offsets etc. and play with precision, but like the ones in Live are very primitive. I do wish Live had given us a more sophisticated device.

For the PC platform you have MANY options especially standalone midi apps. Do a search you will come up with too much to sift through.
Live 607 Mac G5 dual 2.0 Ghz w/ 3.5 gig ram
OS X 10.4.10, Motu 828mk2, c-thru axis, Too many plugins "detective chief superintendent"

Have you considerd 3rd party midi plugins?
Im not sure how they compare as i dont use arps but most of these plugs are free or at least cheep so maybe worth a try.

here is one example of many http://www.xoxos.net/midi.html

Would anybody care to mention what these arps can that Live's cant?

Just wondering, because i can make live do pretty much anything i want when it comes to arped sequences.
I don't want to be missing out on new tricks though. I collect them

thank you i will have a wee look at those as well..i'm getting quite a list here... :D which i like

Rosko ..ahhh free stuff ...my fav kind of stuff next to really expensive stuff the nobody else owns

and

hoffman2k well it could just be me.. as i said i have only just started doing the whole "arp" thing and while i have managed to get live to do some cool stuff i have not managed to get it to sound quite as cool as some of the stuff in Albino3..seems to be stupidly easy to do stuff that sounds complex in albino3....but any pointers would be good hoffman2k
