Noobs don't stick around, because every time they ask a basic question... some asswipe goes off on him, and then says RTFM.
M-Tech D900T laptop, 17" WSXGA+ wide-screen, Intel Pentium 4 3.4 GHz HT (600 series) 2 MB cache, 2048 RAM (Dual Channel DDR2 PC4200 533 MHz), Dual hard drives: 80 gig x 2 = 160 gig SATA 5400 rpm (RAID 0 config)
Korg Zero 8 mixer/soundcard/MIDI

Noob right here. But I read the manual before I started posting, so I am essentially RTFM-proof.
Plus I've got years... yikes going on decades now... of experience w/ other audio software. (And Live is way cooler than any of it IMO.)

subterFUSE has it about right in my book! This is a pretty unfriendly forum for noobs...... some wan*er will either say why haven’t you read the manual or the thread gets ignored.....
I think some people forget what it’s like starting off all enthusiastic.... sitting down with the manual is the last thing you want to do... The other thing that I have observed is that if anyone asks about kit or books there is always a competition to dis everything... A good example of this is anything made by M-Audio.... there is obviously some great music being made with this equipment (the Kid Beyond is one example)....... but to read some peoples reactions to it on this forum you would think its all worse than useless!
Computers especially PCs can be made up of lots of different combinations of components so to get the odd compatibility problems isn't a big deal. It doesn't mean the kit is shit....it just doesnt work with your setup.
Oh well that’s got that off my chest - I have learnt loads from this forum - I would like to thank all those that take the time to help others... to the others who’s ego's get in the way, it might be time to get a life ha ha....

Fear not. Soon "RTFM" will be replaced with "RTFW"
