Hasta la vista, vista......
Yeah, yeah. Apple are a bunch of smug gits. But they're always good for a laugh. And they still make awesome computers.
Who fuels a mac vs pc debate? Either Apple or Microsoft. So don't blame me

Little bird told me that.....
jeez? this is so weird I don't believe it myself??.... anyway someone I know at Apple actually believes that there was a secret conversation between Bill Gates and Jobs, on the fact that Whine for OSX is dammed near perfect..... Wine is a Windows emulator for Linux, Wine allows Windows apps to run in OSX like native apps. So allegedly Jobs showed this to Gates stating that it could be integrated into OSX, or Gates could allow Apple to introduce Vista to the world.....
Anyway, I guess it's possible that Vista is announced as running on intel macs alongside OSX.... honestly though, I don't believe it myself.....
Either that or talks broke down, and OSX is integrating Wine into Leopard, kind of makes sense as far as the not so subtle stab at Microsoft/Vista goes.

its good marketing by apple that is all there is to it.
microsoft will spend millions advertising Vista, so why not come out and poke fun at them? and then ride the free wave of publicity when everyone compares the new Vista to the already released new OSX?
brilliant in my opinion. especially since we all know vista will just be a copy of the then outdated OSX

Am I mistaken or do I have some memory that a few years ago Microsoft bought quite a sizable chunk of apple?
if that's true then why would it be strange at all for this to happen
the feeling I get is the more people who have microsoft the better for Gatesy so I doubt he would object to apple hardware running it
but of course that picture above only shows Vi.....a so god knows what it says, it could be viagra

It's the actual slogan of the whole event that takes place today....forge wrote:Am I mistaken or do I have some memory that a few years ago Microsoft bought quite a sizable chunk of apple?

You don't have to test anything. Just wait and see what Adam doeshambone1 wrote:Something tells me that a quad-core Xenon Mac Pro workstation running Leopard is gonna rock...
I'm still gonna wait for the 2nd generation workstations to replace my aging G5 tower. I don't do hardware beta testing!
He's the groundhog of macs. If he doesn't see his shadow when he emerges from his hole (or studio), then it's time to get a new mac.
If you'd ever used Wine under either linux or mac osx, you'd see the very gaping hole in this story that leads me to question this anecdote.Machinesworking wrote:Little bird told me that.....
