Post by pheecoy » Sun May 21, 2006 7:15 pm

i was reading about the release of macs Boot Camp wherein you can use Windows software with your Apple computers... WOW.. are there downsides of doing this? i'm definitely buying a mac if it's as good as they say it is.

no downsides. only thing you can't do is use the built in camera and remote and stuff. but who cares about those?

i bought an imac yesterday. i had to install windows xp too because i do .net development.

it will also will enable me to use audiomulch etc. from time to time. and some plugins that don't have mac versions.

installation of bootcamp is very easy. all the things i tested (audiomulch, visual studio .net) worked beatifull.

now go out and give your money to mr jobs

But note that you can't just run Windows program from OSX or vice versa. With Bootcamp you will be able to either boot into XP or OSX.

You will also need to go out and buy XP. But it is still very useful.

? mmmh, haven't heard about that one.

but before i installed bootcamp i had to do a firmware update which warned me the fans would go full speed for a moment (5seconds). so they did :) so maybe they solved the issue already?

this has just made buying a mac even more attractive considering all the software i use for music i own on PC

makes the transition to mac only soooo much easier, and cheaper!

now, that educational discount for macs is looking pretty damn interesting, considering i just got a bonus and a pay rise!

don't think i'll be going abroad this year 8O
