folder/group tracks

Post by kuniklo » Sun May 14, 2006 3:19 pm

Straying into DAW territory here, but it would be a big help to have collapsable folder/group tracks. Especially for drum submixes, where by the time I've got 6+ audio tracks and three or four midi tracks I've lost half my screen real estate.

Ditto, hell my submix channels alone takes up the whole screen.

Folder tracks is definately needed, what with Lives awesome routing it's a crime not to have this.

well, Live 7 now has this at least for the Drumrack. Would have been nice if they'd have extended that folder idea beyond that though...

I just don't get it. Why can't they just implement group-tracks the way they did with drum tracks. It looks like just the feature we're wanting, but it just isn't. I understand Ableton wants to develop the innovative side of Live, but how can they just ignore this kind of stuff that's so essential for people, who use Live as their primary DAW?

I personally love working with Live. I've used Cubase and Logic and I just don't like them either. I'll stick with Live, but I just wished they listened to DAW people too.

I was going to post something about this but yeah i need it.I'm about to start recording a large project and i'm already at 39 tracks. Most of those are midi and i really need to be able to hide those or fold them away when i'm ready to start recording so i can come back to them later. As it is i'm working with a 15' laptop and it gets troublesome with 16 tracks minimized finding which one i need.I'm recording to midi and bouncing to audio,if i could hide the midi tracks this would solve a lot of problems as thy are taking up so much space,Seems crazy not to have folder tracks 8O

So +1 :D

Hell Yeah...............why would anyone need to have even a bunch of collapsed tracks just sitting there looking stupid taking up precious screen space on a small laptop screen for E.G., when you could fold them into one..........or there respective groups???? ha why ha ha??

+1million !!!

Just got an Apple 30' Cinema Display but even so... having all those extra channels is just a pain to work with. ...especially when I play out on a 15" laptop screen =]
