sending audio to reason

Post by PLB » Tue Mar 14, 2006 7:58 pm

It seems like i can't send audio from a track in live to reason, to take advantage of something like the vocoder. why not!? i don't want to dick around with my audio samples in reasons samplers, i just want to put them in a track...

i just want to see if this is or isn't possible for sure...

that's one of the reasons (!) I sold it - big bone of contention with alot of people - very strange they still dont allow it by v3 - to have a virtual sampler that doesnt sample??

Hi PLB,
You could kludge it like this:

render the sample from Live
put the sample in NNXT, through a vocoder
render the audio
bring the sample back into Live

Reason just wasn't made for doing what we've all come to take for granted in Live :(. I think that's why they complement each other so well. But yeah, if you're going to stand outside Propellerheads office in Stockholm with a placard saying "Audio Inputs Now!" I'll support you... :)

Can't stop thinking, wouldn't it be great it props made all the reason rack instruments and effects available as vst's/au's. wouldn't it be awesome if you could drag the rv7000 into live ? I'm guessing the liklihood of this ever happening is nil ?

Yeah, Hammer is Asio only... sorry macheads!!....

But, rendering down as a wav and bringing it into reason, that is the way to go....

Uh, no... there are 10x better vsts out there.. I used to love Reason and have been using it since 1, but it's outdated, and vst effects are 10 times better. I still use reason alot, because i have mad refills, but i rewire everything and work in Live or PT. Reason 3's mastering tools are finally up to par, but there are still better vst's out there that would do a better job... Reason's a has-been in my book.

I still use Reason constantly because of it's routing capabilities. CV is genius.

clever - but I cant believe someone independent managed to create it and Props didnt and you have to pay for it - it's just crazy, such a basic thing and they just refuse

never mind though I dont really miss much about reason
