Macbook Pro performance test result
Using Adamjay's test (see elsewhere on this forum).
1) Ableton Live CPU Meter % - 43%
2) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model - Apple Intel Core Duo 15"
3) Operating System - OSX 10.4.5
4) CPU Make Model and Speed - 2 ghz Toshiba
5) Amount of Ram / Speed of Ram (if you know) - 1 GB / DDR2 SDRAM
6) Soundcard (Stock or add on?, usb/firewire/pci ?) - RME Fireface
7) Hard Disk Drive Speed (if you know) - 5400rpm

sounds like something is wrong didn't i read that the dual core imac
was getting 20-29% or something?

No, not Rosetta... it's the 5.2 beta. I got between 34-39% on my 2.0GHz MacBook Pro. Are the iMacs really that much faster to get a 26-29% score?
Other than that, I do have to say that I am ECSTATIC about the MacBook Pro. The graphics are sooo smooth and the GUI is so responsive even when doing intensive music work. Live runs a million times better than my old Powerbook, and feels just about the same as my Dual 2.5 G5.
Logic is simply amazing on this machine because of its optimized usage of dual procs.
When Live 6 comes out, it'll be bananas!

i'm getting about the same rates as the imacs.
i haven't seen it spike to 39 percent at all.

Not as fast as a Powerbook or imac if Mr Jobs has anything to do with it

yeah, i got similar on my "test box single core" mine is a P4 2.4Ghz with 10.4.3.
