Beats me. I'd buy it just to have an back-up computer incase something goes terribly wrong during a gig or something. I've never tried syncing two computers to run live, but i guess you can try and sync Mac and PC. On the other hand, you could save up your money and sell you iBook if you want a new comuter, that's what i did. I bought a pbook 15".

You could probably run live on it, but it probably won't be as fast as you would like. Do you think you'll use it live or just in the studio? That is important in choosing a computer.

yea. go for it if you want it, nothing to really loose for a lappy that's 100 bucks. The only thing is i don't understand why you need a second lappy, is your iBook not working properly?

I think for $100 dollars this deal is a great one. I work for a school district in the IT dept. We have a whole fleet of this model laptop. They are pretty reliable, although we have had some problems with video. I have had screens go bad, and also the video card onboard has been flakey on several of them. But overall it is a good machine, especially at that price. Live will run fantastic on it.
