what's the point of your post?forge wrote:god what the hell is it with Apple
It feels like htey are just constantly playing stupid games with their users.
Why dont they just get on with it and stop with all the bullshit.
Announcing the whole wintel thing in the 1st place was risky for IBM based sales, but I dont see any of the PC laptop makers constantly pissing about with these stupid games, they just release new laptops when they do...I mean I'm sure that's partly because there's less hype with them, but Apple pisses me off.
They should have done all this a long time ago and it annoys me their insane marketing crap still seems to work.
MacIntel Powerbooks in Jan

I made a one line post and Paws opened the floodgates and asked me to elaborate so I did.

If you're talking about the new models being cheaper, I don't see why they would be. Even if they were, my original point still stands.forge wrote:well that may be true, but dont you think the powerbooks will be alot cheaper once they're released?dirtystudios wrote: I myself ordered a PowerBook on Friday. My logic being that by the time I need a new machine, the platform will be well supported. It's the same logic I used with the migration to OSX, and it worked well. I switched over when 10.2 came out, and by that time, there were plenty of plug-ins and applications, with all the wrinkles of the new platform ironed out.

If you mean the current models dropping in price, they might drop a few hundred, but I don't know if a PowerBook will be realeased in January, all the serious rumors I've heard are about iBooks. Plus I work at a Mac reseller, so I get it at cost, and our cost on old machines doesn't change when new machines are released.
Besides, the price point that these machines reached with the last update is amazing.

thank you to "technatural" for the following PM, apparently my rant was personally directed at him.
"Why don't you shut up wanking about apple.
If you don't like it fuck off. I hope you crash in your probably amature mp3 dj set.
Windows is copying apple since the begin of time so you should be grateful.
Just don't buy a mac, you are not worth it"
