News to me! Its been a while since I've actually been there. I'm not a DJ, so I don't actually shop for vinyl.

I just know that they had alot of good stuff on there Label a couple years ago.

Does mean that I'm aging now?

Add me to the list!

I'm less than an hour from Baltimore right across the PA border. Sure, I'm all up for meeting somewhere! Let's do it. :D

Any ideas where to meet? I think bi-weekly or once/month would be cool.

I thought yoshitoshi was gone too. I looked for it once a couple years ago when I heard about it and when I found the address, something else or other business was there.

Ooh, me too! I'm in Northern VA, so that's pretty close to DC. Just starting to move completely to Live for DJing... would like to meet up with other people and stuff.

Okay, we seem to have a pretty big group now. So the question is... D.C. or Baltimore? I live in Baltimore, so that would be my biased preference. There's always places between the two cities. I figure we could start out doing something once or twice a month, and then see if there's enough interest to keep going. I just wish I had a better computer... I'm waiting to see what Apple unleashes to the world next year, and how many companies will already have software ready for the new platform.

Hey there,

I just moved to Arlington from Chicago (it was my post that's linked to above). Baltimore may be hard for me. If this starts up though I'd definitely try and make it. I'd love to hear others' music and check out (or talk about) setups.

I agree re: the computer situation though. I've been waiting FOREVER to buy a new mac, because they always feel too expensive and underpowered. Intel iBook-- maybe. But running LIVE through some OS emulation, not sure how great that'll be. I'll wait for some reports. Which means no new mac, and no live, for me until the spring at best.

so...
if i was to schedule an evening at a dc club for a get-together, who would come?
i have a tentative possibility for the black cat on 14thstreet, for sunday, january 29th.
i figure i'd find out who wants to play, and divide up set times accordingly.
it would have to be as simple a set-up as possible, stereo out only for each performer, maybe a jam session at the end(i'd have to supply a mixer for that).
more of a meet and greet/ performance than workshop, although if anyone wanted to do a demo of an technique, that would be cool.
p.m. me your contact if interested.
thanks!

Yea! the last time I went to the BC, I walked right by two guilty looking faces that belonged to two sets of hands making an exchange.
