New to Live &a brand new DAW.. any quick suggestions?

Post by vcstv » Fri Nov 18, 2005 1:55 am

Hey everyone

I just dropped $$$$ for a brand new DAW to run my brand new copy of Live5. Im so psyched for it..

Im building this PC with a P4 3.0g, 80G SATA drive, 1 g RAM, M-Audio audiophile 2496, windows xp

Any suggestion regarding building or setting up these parts to run Live exclusively? this PC will not be online, its strictly a studio piece and will be recording /sequencing audio / MIDI and Burning CD's..

any Windows setup advise? Will Live run much bettwr with a video card?

any M-audio 2496/Live5 tips?

thanks in advance for your time

~Steve

Windows setup: www.musicxp.net

You'll always need a videocard to see something on your monitors. Some chipsets do have graphics build in, but I would avoid those.

Once you tweak your system how you like, get DeepFreeze.... frekkin amazing program which locks your system down so you don't end up having anything change or break unexpectedly in terms of operatingsystem/drivers/file setups.
