Some time ago I saw a documentary somewhere onthe net featuring Jo-Jo Mayer with DJ Spooky - http://www.jojomayer.com/ - ... unbeleivable , this man plays Junglebreaks/DnB live and can even sound like if playing reverse

yeah, Jo-Jo is awesome, and FUKT will never-ever come close to that. But there aren't a lot of good jo-jo mayer videos out there. I remember seeing one on a drummer site, but can't remember which one.

There's a video on his site at http://www.jojomayer.com, and there's probably one at http://www.drummerworld.com as well. He played at this year's Modern Drummer festival, which is being released on DVD pretty soon.

LIve DnB CHECK OUT THIS CAT!

Post by Joshua Boden » Fri Oct 28, 2005 3:17 pm

I work at a music school in NYC called the collective. One of the cats that works here is teaching DnB a concept he calls "Reverse Enginering" where he takes apart trad DnB and plays it on a drum kit! This cat is SICK! Hes currently working with Laswell.....his name is Guy Licata....look for him!
Peace,
Joshua

ooh, I'll be looking out for this.. And Joshua, that guy who's talking about reverse engineering is actually Jo-Jo Mayer - check his web-site, it's the main focus of his work.

wow, nice video.
Thanks for the link. Always good to have good drummers, percussionnists on stage too, but hard to get. I just saw Ben Watkins (juno reactor) live, last week, with 4 south african guys being so and not-so accurate on percussions, just to make the music alive. how great !
Cheers,
amo
