Synth modules for M4L?
Synth modules for M4L?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know if someone has made modular style synth modules for M4L? So you can use Max like the Nord Modular editor...
I found this, but I cannot really make it work smoothly in M4L.
So something like this please :
Cheers,
Nikolaj

Yes, would be great but is a lot of work to realise plus i'd like to have some frameworks covered before starting with it.
Stretta did BEAP for Berklee but so far it's M6, not M4L.

I like these collection of modules:
http://jamoma.org/
They have: a standardized GUI, careful testing, easy patch management.
But, they are not for M4L. However, I don't see why they couldn't be ported...

Have you seen this BEAP post on the Ableton blog?

HUGE +1 for BEAP.
Great way for M4L users with little to no Max experience to create some devices by simply plugging modules together.

I really want to use BEAP but I'm struggling to get it to turn up in any of the menus it should. I'm running Win 8.1 64 bit and am thinking that it might possibly be a 64 bit issue.stringtapper wrote:HUGE +1 for BEAP.

I followed the install instruction;- "Move the BEAP-Master folder to inside the Max 6.1/packages folder. Rename the BEAP-Master folder to BEAP, the Launchr module will function. (Re)-Launch Max." but don't appear to have a Max 6.1/packages folder, I tried creating it but still no joy. What am I missing?

Re: Synth modules for M4L?
Not sure where it would be on Windows but on Mac you have a folder called "Max 6.1" and within that folder is the app itself and a bunch of other folders with resources. One of these folders should be called "packages."
What version of Max are you using? Current is 6.1.4.

Re: Synth modules for M4L?
I'm using 6.1.4 and there's no packages folder inside the Max 6.1 folder, just 'Cycling '74, examples, java-doc, patches, support and some dlls plus the two Max *.exe files.

Re: Synth modules for M4L?
If you right-click in an unlocked patcher and choose "paste from" do you see any of the VIZZIE modules in the contextual menu?
If you do then VIZZIE is installed as a package. So maybe try to search for "vizzie" on your hard drive.
Just thinking in case the packages folder installs somewhere else in Windows.

Re: Synth modules for M4L?
Ah, I just went to re-check the Max version just in case I'd installed the wrong one and noticed that I do have a Packages folder in Program files/Cycling 74, NOT Program files x86/Cycling 74. So I'll try that! Vizzie is in there too, so I'm hopeful.
Thanks for the help.

Yup, works fine, just loaded up the arp from the midi section to test and it all seems good. Cripes there's some interesting stuff in there!
Going to check that link now, thanks again.
