Are you noticing a bit of quiet noise coming from your Yamaha's tweeters, no matter the volume, even if no audio lead is connected at all?

Many monitors seem to have this problem, or I may say: many set ups.

There could be many possible causes: If the computer and monitors are on the same power strip a loop could be taking place. The solution for me was to connect them to different power strips.

In some cases when audio is connected the power noise comes from the MOBO.

Well, that's not the ground loop for me - it is much, much quieter. But in your setup it would surely be noticeable with your distance to monitors. I have to be about 1-1,5 meters from my HS80's to disregard it, no matter if the audio is connected or not.

Then I don't notice something like that, they are quite silent when no audio is played.

moved recently and have been building the studio back up, which also doubles as a laundry room/guest house/fiance's painting studio.

Pretty turntable. What make & model? Reminds me of a Philips.
