plugin scan popups
plugin scan popups
hi,
live 5 looks for the plugins at every start,
live 4 used to search for all the installed plugins and display error messages for the non compatible vst plugins (cubas ones)
now i still can use it, but at every startup i have to press ok 20 times or so...
anyone knows how i can fix this?
there is a file anywhere who can memorize the non compatible plugins or something like that?
thx in advance

This really is a pain since there are also some special plugins that throw a popup if they're scanned in this way. For example the FX Teleported plugins (marvelous stuff, by the way!) think they are being activated and want a clearance to either search for a remote machine or run in Local Mode...
Every time I start Live 5.
No such problem in version 4, of course. The plugin folder really, really should be scanned only when the user wishes to do so -- or at least there should be an option to turn the auto scanning off.

This is a normal problem, some of the Cubase Plugs works only with Cubase...
Because i don't need all of my plugs in live, i created a Pluginfolder under \ableton\ and point live to this one.
Don't got this problems again.
You only have to remember to copy the actual dll's to this folder after an update.

The actual annoyance isn't about Cubase plugins, nor is it solved by moving some of the plugins into a different folder. There are plugins which react by showing a popup when scanned in this manner, detecting that they are being launched. Then, a forced scan at every startup = clicking away popups at every startup.
