Would Ableton be right for these things?

Thanks stephenlnoe, I may end up getting that BOOK once I get Live. I forgot to reread my post, I actually did watch a few tutorials and was blown away, that was what was missing in the beginning of my last post. I still could do a lot with the triton, and with other software, but live definately looks like what i will need for "live" playing. What is the best sampling program for building sounds and using them in live, in terms of CPU efficiency. I guess I may have to bounce a lot of tracks to make things run smoothly. Is that what most people do here?

now for the next question.. alesis photon X25 with an educational discount for live 4, or the Live 4 + m-audio O2 bundle?
