Post by Alex » Sat Feb 15, 2003 3:12 am

Hi folks,

on the download page you can find the new Live version: Live 2.0.2
First we have to apologize for Live 2.0.1. We haven't realized how 'smelly' Live 2.0.1 was when we released it. We still haven't fixed all known bugs so you can expect a further update soon. But because of the frustration about Live 2.0.1 we decided to release a bugfix update already now. Special thanks to the users who helped me to get closer to the bugs.

Below you see a list of fixed bugs in Live 2.0.2. We hope the most you have are inside.

Hey guys, thank you for clearly working your butts off, we appreciate it. Even though not all the bugs are fixed, progress and communication are the key. Keep it coming!

Fantastic!

Thank you Alex, and the rest of the team!

Two or three of those fixes are major for me. Even something as seemingly trivial as fixing the "Follow Flag" bug makes a huge difference in overall useability... one less "thing" to remember or think about... now I can relax more in Arrange Mode :) :)

Thanks again. THIS is how products should be made and supported!! Keep it up!

Syncing clips still not fixed in Live 2.02 as stated.

Post by fuentes925 » Sat Feb 15, 2003 9:19 am

I just upgraded to 2.02 and I still get clips that play out of sync in the session view. It only happens once in a while but this is a big problem for me, it causes me much worry every time I change a scene, because I don't know if it is all going to play in sync. Any body else still have this problem?

yup. Thanks for the update.

One question: You say that "Midi clock has been improved". What exactly does that mean? Sync to external or better master clock or something else?

extensive testing-audio clicks and pops...

Post by datagroove » Sat Feb 15, 2003 11:31 pm

um... hate to say it but: I’ve done some testing and audio playback with certain styles of loops on my system causes more clicks and pops during playback then the older version did.

For instance with loops such as bass lines or any consistent ambient textures you can hear anomaly’s such as a click or pop easier…so I have been testing and doing so in all 4 loop modes… these audio files do not have any clitchs and they loop perfectly in a sample editor (such as peak or spark)

Within Live a glitchy pop can be head in some audio files -sometimes its consistent and sometimes not- but I am discovering they usually occur were a beat marker is.

It happens in ASIO or sound manager.
And..
once again these loop perfectly, (I create perfect loops for living)

so can you comment on this? I can send audio file if you’d like.

Tibook 667- minimum extension set, 768 MB, testing with just one clip at a time

ASIO soundcard is a RME multiface at a 256 buffer

Hi,

I can hardly imagine the update would have incurred clicks, so let's find out exactly what this is about. To track this down, first please make sure the song loop is off, as the song loop jump back can cause clicks. If the problem persists, please try to create a minimal Live Set that exhibits the problem. Then, send this Live Set to alex@ableton.com. Thank you.

My apologies- as it was pointed out having Live in song loop mode can cause clicks at the loop point- and because my default set had this feature on and looped at 2.0.0 -> I heard clicks in none transient oriented loops every 2 bars. Thank you Gerhard.

Glad to be proven wrong,
