Hey,
So I was pretty use to DJing back home, and just got to college this year and want to start DJing again for spring Quarter,
Back at Home I was really use to the CDJ's and the normal mixer set up, but due to space restraints I have had to
go for the laptop dj setup,
So I have the newest Macbook Pro with ableton live 8 and I really need good advice
as to what else I need to properly DJ
I definitely want to pick up the APC 40,
but do I need a sound card? and if so which one is good?
and what about a mixer? should I get my mixer from back home even though I have a sound card? what would the mixer add to my setup,
I know there is a search function but I haven't been able to find any advice for a really new rig and what direction I should go...
so yeh, recommend a rig for me
thnx in advance guys!
much much much appreciated

Re: Kinda Urgent Rig Question
I highly recommend the APC. I have a video tutorial on my site that goes over the basics of DJing in Ableton, as well as some sound card recommendations.
Enjoy!

Re: Kinda Urgent Rig Question
If you don't want to spend the rest of your life warping tracks, then I suggest you use Tracktor to DJ.
Ableton is not very well suited to general DJ'ing.
It's also tedious and not a lot of fun as DJ'ing should be.

Agree with the Traktor comment. I tried djing with Live and hated it.
