Can anybody reccomend...

...some good realistic sounding vsti's that will work with ableton? For acoustic percussion instruments, like piano, harpsichord, vibraphone, glockenspiel. How about some classic Nintendo 8 bit sounding synths?

http://tweakbench.com/ has some awesome free stuff, including a couple of NES emulators and a nice mellotron instrument. they're for PC though, so that's kinda lame.

Just buy Kontakt 4 already.

http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... kontakt-4/

43 GB library with optional expansion packs, it should cover almost everything anyone needs in terms of real sounding instruments.

Or look up East West's libraries (although their PLAY sample player device is sucking quite a bit IMO at this time)

If Kontakt is too steep shop around for ViR2's 'VI.One' instrument which I've seen for $99 lately. It's library is about half the size of Kontakt 4 but it still offers a heck of a lot.
