buffer shuffler feedback routing

Post by circuitb » Tue Feb 23, 2010 5:04 pm

do you guys think it's possible
to make a looper with an insert routing (like the ableton looper)
with Buffer shuffler!
since there's only 2 audio input/output channels in M4L devices
how to avoid feedback feedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedbackfeedback
?

maybe you can clarify what you mean.

the live looper acts like a traditional looper, by recording audio from the input as well as the feedback from itself.

BufferShuffler on the other hand, just plays audio in different slices, so as long as there is recording/delay piece in the puzzle I am not sure how to make a looper with that.

besides, by routing the looper output back into it (via a second track), there will be quite some feedback. but maybe I didn't get your point.

hi nick
the idea is to make a traditional looper with advanced functionalities:
accurate sync ( current step number ) , slicing, dice, reverse playing, pitch etc...
BufferShuffler on the other hand, just plays audio in different slices
there's already realtime audio&video loopers made with max
so i think it's possible to fill the buffer in realtime? with chucker~

besides, by routing the looper output back into it (via a second track), there will be quite some feedback
not sure advanced internal muting/routing is enough to achieve a feedback loop...without feedback
any info are welcome

the buffer within buffer shuffler is continously streamed from the currently playing clip, so if you change the clip it will play new audio

of course, you can route the chucker~ output back into chucker which would be kind of a feedback loop (the original audio + the shuffled audio)

but it would get pretty crazy as the shuffled audio is shuffled again....

is this what you mean ?

without shuffling, it would be a traditional looper.
