Re: Live looping

You could always build one of these, it is pretty easy: http://www.cycling74.com/story/2007/10/16/1252/3782 I use all of the "extra" buttons for all kinds of things. I do more than just looping though. I am processing my guitar through live so there is a lot of fun stuff to map out with di...

Re: Live looping

I have recently moved up to Live 8 just because of its built in looper. Previously I have used hardware to achieve this using an Akai Headrush mkII or the digitech jamman. Live's looper is the best thing EVER. I also picked up the behringer fcb-1010, I highly recommend this as it frees up your hands...

Switching device chains via midi footcontroller

I play guitar into live. I was hoping to be able to setup a main guitar in track and then a bunch of different effects chains and switch between them with my behringer fcb-1010. Since we can't midi map the solo buttons in a chain, is there any way around this. I would like a setup where I press butt...

FS: Presonus Firebox

Presonus Firebox, pretty much brand new. Got it about 9 months ago, right before I moved. I still don't have my studio set back up here in my new house so its been pretty much un-used the whole time. I am broke, and in between jobs so I have to unload some stuff. :( So you'll get the interface, box,...

i've got a couple of hardware synths that sound a lot like boards of canada.

however, i've read interviews with them where they say that most of what people consider their "synth sound" is actually samples.

its probably more like "save current document" than just save. or "save" followed by the file path then the file name. usually when dealing with files in any language you have to get specific about things. i made some applescripts that did some photoshop conversions for me once f...

put the samples you want on audio clips slots in session view, then use the key map mode and map those numbers? if you try the above be sure to set the clip quantize on them to none. you might be able to find an app that will convert the keystrokes. if you could translate them to A,S,E,F,G, etc like...

to ask the obvious question, why actually sample her? why not just already have the bits sampled and sliced up and loaded into sampler, then "play" the granulizered stuff live the same way you would play anything else live. reaktor would have been more suited for "sampling" + gra...

if you aren't on pc, i think you mean you are on a mac? anyways os x has the IAC BUS built in. its like virtual midi ports (like midi yoke). you can add as many as you need under audio/midi setup. i wrote this walkthrough for using the monome with ableton, the first part of it covers setting up the ...

what are you guys going on and on about. for a long time (at least since v4) live has been able to easily midi map the tap tempo button on the gui. if you have a footcontroller (like kid beyond) all you gotta do is map out the tap tempo to one of the buttons. then when you start a new song out of th...
