General synthesis question
Hi y'all. This might be quite tricky to explain, so bear with me please: trying to describe sounds with words is never easy. My problem is that whenever I try to make a really deep bass sound it just breaks up. I end up with this kind of farty noise, rather than a nice clean sub bass. Generally I'm ...

Havn't ever used a MCP groove template, however; if you could record on some hats from the MPC with the groove applied, (so you have essentially got the groove you want as an audio file) load that into ableton, warp it so there is a warp marker on every hit (so it plays straight), then drop the warp...

If you can get hold of a copy of the latest Computer Music mag, it's got a Booka Shade interview. They go on about the CM101 which you get free on the cover. Apparently they used it on Mandarin Girl, and it even has a picture of the settings (tiny, but usable). Unfortunately if your on an intel Mac ...

Made the Mac move 6 months ago and it was utterly painfree. Took about a week of casual use to figure out the new operating system, and install everything, but after that its a breeze. From what I experienced, you will need to reload plugins (even if you have the same ones on your mac as you did on ...

Question about compression
Last night I programmed a drum part (in battery), and managed to get the most lively hats I have ever produced. The hats have a small amount of groove (applied manually to each midi note) and a some velovity mod. But the hats really come alive when they are compressed with the rest of the drums (sim...

Try this, might help, set up 2 Returns, on the first return (return A) add a utility, and click the phaze left /phaze right buttons (this will swap the left and right signals). turn up the send to return B on return A (you may need to enable this by right clicking on it) so everything which runs thr...

There are three slots to assign midi to on the cross fader. On the left and right are cuts, and in the middle is the actual crossfader. It sounds to me like you have assigned just the cuts, if so delete these midi assignments and assign the knob to just the one in the middle. Plus if you right click...

Not at my Live computer right now, so bear with my vague instructions but I think you need to do this: Go to the live prefs, Click on the audio tab, Under the drop down menu where you select the soundcard there is an input and output configuration box. Click the output box, and you will be given the...

set up the trigger finger so its a device in the controller list, activate the record button for the track with the trigger finger on, and away you go. dont forget that the trigger finger will only work if it's set up correctly, so if you have gone and changed any of the cc's or the global midi chan...
