That is weird. Can you try this: delete one track at a time from your live set and see if the problems clear up at any point. Does bringing it down to, say, 12 tracks have any change/improvement? Is there any single track that causes the issue? It's hard to say... since you're only using Ableton nat...

Can’t vouch for the SL Mk3, but I’ve owned a SL Mk1 and currently using an SL Mk 2 and it’s great!

The Novation Launch Control XL has worked well for me. Seems pretty well made, so long as you get the mk2 model (with black as opposed to grey case) the mk1 was prone to developing “crosstalk” issues where some buttons would randomly trigger other buttons. @Machinesworking, to your point, I saw Robert Henke give an Ableton presentation way back in 2004 and he said quite openly “I use Live and Pro Tools, not every tool does everything.”

What I hear in that sample is white noise plus an LFO-modulated resonant tone. If you were to play around with a low pass filter, you might find a cutoff frequency that kills a lot of the noise/sizzle/hiss and leaves the fundamental modulated tone. It’s perfectly fine to use effects to raise the gain, though you might find that a Utility device is a better choice than Saturator, if you want to keep the actual sound un-altered. Keep everything in the green and all’s well.

You could put the LFO in a rack, and use snapshots to record the “active” and “bypass” modes (using what jur suggests above).
