Re: Question

I don't think the APC40 is much bigger than the trigger finger, and the Trigger Finger has a threaded socket underneath. The APC40 is MUCH MUCH bigger than a trigger finger. Think MPD32 and add a bit (IIRC) I just measured against my trigger finger. It's only about 5" and 3" larger in eac...

I get the impression it's way too big for that.

I seldom use a crossfader when DJ'ing so its not a problem for me. Besides, the position is the least of the problems with the APC40 when it comes to DJ'ing - the main one being the lack of dedicated channel knobs for EQ. Which to me says the APC40 isn't designed primarily for DJ's, wouldn't surpri...

Even muting a MIDI-only track controlling external gear issues a stop note on all the notes playing when the mute is hit, causing the note to just cut off.

Possibly a dumb M4L question

I want to know if M4L will enable me to make devices that would function like VSTi versions of my hardware synths. In other words, will I be able to make an "instrument" that has an interface and labeled CC's which output over MIDI to my hardware but acts as if it is a VSTi in Live?

Touchscreen support. I'd like to flip my tablet back and just use the touchscreen, but I need the mousepad for adjusting knobs not covered in automap.

However, I am very excited about this.

I wonder how Live will work with ThinSight technology. Live would have to be changed to properly respond to multiple touches. They'd also need to re-write the knob/fader/envelope adjustments to not take over the cursor as they do. For now, it would likely react the same as a touch screen or tablet.

This helped me in Live 6: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50555 I have no idea about Live 7. Anyway, the above fix lets you use the center click button on a pen to make adjustments on faders, knobs and envelopes without all the crazy jumping. The whole problem is how Live takes over the...

For some reason, some people have no trouble syncing external hardware sequencers to Live, while others can't get it to work. The Ableton team have been working to resolve it, but there are many different factors to consider. I recommend using the Electribe clock and slaving Ableton to the Electribe...

There is a known problem with MIDI sync.
I recommend to anyone using gear with a clock to use the hardware clock as the master. Ableton live has issues sending clock, but it slaves very nicely.
