This is info for all that are looking for snappier response from thier BCR 2000 rotary pots for those quick automation moments. I found them a little slow on the pick up so have resolved the issue. I give full credit to whoever originally posted this on the forum, I just figured I should re-post as ...

5.2 don't need any more complexity than that. Running stable on a powerbook 1.5/10.4....

Only jumping to 6 once I can afford a macbook mainly just for the overhead to run more effects...it's the only thing that I have a problem with...

i'm afraid i cannot divulge any more on the process or the numbers and what they mean. 96 96 96 96 is the resolution setting in the code and not the resultant only achievable settings...just code for the box to understand. "Apparently combinations using 1536 and 3072 can be used", how do i...

i don't think you can listen to most of the tracks on druqs without trying to break down the process behind it, it's absolutely mesmerising. Aphex is a workhorse, always has been, makes a mockery of everything else by displaying the most obssessive of technically preficient music and it's popular ac...

thank you again people...I appreciate the sound and concise replies, I'm getting a picture of the whole thing now. No doubt though, love the 12" I'm running and still will and it's a robust travel writing machine that will still do enough for me whilst away from home; very ergonomic. I had not ...

Regading the midi interface I use, the midex 8... If I upgrade to a macbook and the Universal Binary Live 6 will I need new drivers for my midi interface? I know that no new drivers have been written by steinberg, took long enough to get the os x drivers in the first place. It came to my attention w...

thanks for all your replies, very encouraging indeed....I was hoping i'd be able to keep myself from buying one of these for a while but just can't deny that performance increase that is only £900 away and projects at cpu breaking point, i think i need it, too much time spent working around cpu cons...

wow....

after reading the 7x faster chat on the apple website i was inclined to think it was a little too good to be true. To hear the evidence from a live user direct is far more encouraging. I really appreciate the reply.

thank you.

Macbook performance considerable vs. powerbook?

I'm running a 12 inch powerbook right now 1.5ghz with all the ram....I'd be greatful if someone out there who previously ran 5.2 on this system can give me a basic idea of what performance icrease you can achieve with the macbook duo and live 6. I have checked the performance results thread but was ...
