Mic Pre first. Always. Your compressor won't be designed to work with mic level signals. You need the mic pre-AMP to bring them up to line level for the compressor. um... yeah, but hey, if you have a mic that will give you line level without a pre, then let me know. that'd be great, otherwise, list...

remember that if you're upgrading from a PPC machine to an Intel, that many of your programs are not going to function properly because they're not UB.
